Getting to the Museum


Getting here by public transport.

Lothian Buses services 26, 44, 46, 48, 106, 113, 124, and 140 run regularly along Musselburgh High Street from the surrounding area.

East Coast Bus service 104, 106, 113, 124, 129, X5, and X24 run along Musselburgh High Street.

There is a regular train service from Edinburgh Waverley to Musselburgh and Wallyford stations from where buses connect to Musselburgh town centre.

Getting here by car

The museum is located just 6 miles from Edinburgh City Centre and is conveniently located minutes from the main A1 route south. There are several car parks near the museum which are well sign posted.

Access for visitors with mobility difficulties.

A set down area is located on Musselburgh High Street directly outside the main door of the museum which has a single yellow line restriction.

Public parking is available 70 metres away at the Old Town Hall Square where two disabled spaces are available on a first come first serve basis for the general public.

Access from this car park to the museum involves a ramp onto the pavement and a distance of 90 metres to the main door.
